Hi!

I’m Chloe and I am the creative founder of Oopsie Doopsie Crafts. Oopsie Doopsie started as a way for me to share the crafts that I make with the people in my world. While this was fun (and still is!) I am always trying new things. My reason behind the name is that there really is no way to mess up crafting (or life) you can make mistakes and still end up with something beautiful. I have learned to love the process as much as the products that I make. So shake off that perfectionist pressure (I know I know – this is HARD) but give yourself credit and allow yourself to create for the sake of creating!

My Story.

(The kinda boring bit)

I am an engineer and have worked in medical device manufacturing and pharmaceutical bioprocessing, again this is fun (sometimes) and I love what I do but I am ready to start something new. I also have recently received my MBA in engineering management.

(The way less boring bit)

I am crafty (we know this) but also I am a quiet leader with big ideas and I care DEEPLY about my fellow humans and the planet we live on. At home I have an equally crafty wife that usually goes along with my crazy ideas even if they scare us both. Together we have two beautiful, amazing, talented, and perfect children that keep us constantly learning and growing and BUSY!

The Herstory!

I was participating in a workshop where we were encouraged to develop an ikigai (生き甲斐) diagram. This Japanese philosophical term breaks down into “iki” which means “alive” and “gai” which means “worth”. These phrases together refer to what gives your life value, meaning, or purpose. It’s the intersection of what you love, what you’re good at, what the world needs, and what you can be paid for. My ikigai led me to Oopsie Doopsie Crafts! (Please excuse my handwriting but it’s perfect)

What does the world/people need?
- Sustainability, nurturing, being cared for, community feminism, equality for all
What am I good at?
- Creating, caring, learning, testing, loving
What do I love?
- People, the planet, listening to others’ stories, crafting, planning
What can I be paid for?
- Trash/Scrap store with events, programs, crafts, community

Oopsie Doopsie Crafts!

Oopsie Doopsie will be a second hand thrift shop for all things crafting supplies. Someday in the not so far future, we will have a space to sell donated crafting supplies, handmade goodies, and anything my team and I think people might find useful from the space. Big plans are in the works for classes, events, dedicated maker spaces, crafting parties/camps, and SO much more. The space will be human friendly, dog friendly, kid friendly, friend friendly!, just not jerk friendly (I would actually probably still be super friendly to a jerk but please don’t put this on me)
